Weft
One-touch voice notes for how you feel. Speak a note the moment something happens, and an on-device model organizes your notes into a journal and a summary you can bring to a doctor’s visit.

Getting help
The best way to reach Weft is email.
support@alex-wf.comWhen you write, it helps to include your iOS version and a few words about what happened.
Weft is made by one person, and that same person answers the mail. You’ll hear back as soon as I can get to it.
Questions
Common questions
- Does everything happen on my iPhone?
- Yes, with one exception worth naming: the first time your language needs it, Weft downloads Apple's speech model, which sends none of your words. After that, recording, transcription, and organizing all run on your device. On an iPhone 15 Pro or newer running iOS 26, an on-device model titles each note and groups recurring symptoms into patterns; on earlier iPhones your transcript is still the record, and your notes are still filed and grouped.
- What does Weft cost?
- Recording, the live transcript, your Diary, search, Face ID lock, and encrypted export are free, with no limits. Weft Complete is a single purchase of $9.99, once, that unlocks patterns, trends, and unlimited visit summaries. There is no subscription. Already bought it? On a new phone, or after reinstalling, tap Restore Purchases and Weft unlocks again at no charge.
- Can I keep a copy of my record, or move it to a new phone?
- Yes. In Settings, Weft can write an encrypted archive of your whole record to Files, locked with a passphrase only you know, and read it back in on any iPhone. Importing never overwrites what is already there, and never brings back a note you deleted.
- What happens to my recordings?
- The transcript is the record; the audio is only there so you can check what was said. A recording is kept until a month after you have read its note, then discarded - never before, and never at all if the transcript failed or heard nothing. If you would rather keep them, turn on Keep recordings in Settings.
- Where are my notes kept?
- On your iPhone. If your phone’s iCloud backup is on, your notes travel in that backup, so a replacement phone can restore your journal; the recordings are deliberately left out of it. There is also an iCloud sync switch in Settings, off until you turn it on, which mirrors your notes through your own iCloud account so your other devices see the same journal — never through a server of ours, because Weft has no account and no server of its own.

Where your notes live
Weft has no account to make and no server of ours behind it. Nothing you record is sent anywhere by Weft. The app uses the network twice, and never for your words: the App Store, to sell it and restore a purchase, and Apple's on-device speech model, which it fetches once so that transcription can run without a server afterwards. There are no analytics, and there are no third-party libraries inside the app. Your record lives on your iPhone, and in your own iCloud backup if you have one turned on.
The full privacy policy says where everything is kept, what each permission is for, and how long recordings survive.
